Director Emeritus - Anthony D. Lechner, his wife Jennifer, and two children Olivia and newest addition Cameron, have been members of Grace for over 2 years and have been greatly involved in most of the music programs since they arrived. Throughout his life, he has loved God and the amazing world of music that surrounds worship. Working closely with talented individuals to learn as much as possible firsthand about the love of God through music, implementing techniques to better enhance his and others relationship and worship with God. Since his arrival at Grace, he has worked with the Traditional Music Director to continue to expand the presence of music in the services. Anthony was the original founder of “The Master’s Jazz Ensemble”, and shortly after the creation of the jazz ensemble, “The Grace Brass Quintet” was formed, and with that came many other individual duets and trios as well. In addition to his volunteering with the ensembles, he serves on an eighteen member committee responsible for Worship Arts Planning. Along with his duties directing the ensemble, Anthony's main instrument is the trumpet, which he has been playing for over 12 years. While continuing to learn the trumpet he also plays piano, euphonium and a little bit of trombone. Anthony constantly strives to improve himself through music and his love for God.
Anthony is originally from the Purchase Line area about 25 minutes outside of Indiana. Before moving to Indiana to pursue his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Finance, he was greatly involved at the Kinport Assembly of God Church, where he assumed direction of the “Catch the Spirit Jazz Ensemble” for 2 years, as well as the “Kinport Assembly of God Brass Quartet”. Along with his activities in the instrumental ensembles, he was the assistant and substitute pianist for morning worship and special events.
