At Grace we believe that children are a gift from God and that we have been given the privilege of raising our children to not only know about Jesus but to KNOW him personally. Along with that privilege comes a great responsibility, which Grace takes very seriously. Therefore, we offer a wide variety of ministry opportunities and programs that we pray will help our children
Below is a brief description of some of our regular opportunities.
Children's Worship
During the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services at the Grace Church site (after the Children's Message) and during the entire 10:00 worship service at the Y children in kindergarten through 5th grades are invited to leave to attend Children’s Worship. At Children's Worship children sing worship songs, have an age appropriate lesson based on scripture and learn how to live out their faith in their everyday lives.
This year (from September 2011 to September 2012) our team of children’s worship leaders is using “God’s Big Picture” from Gospel Light.
Parents in Prayer Group!
Join with other parents and friends as we:
- Pray for our children and families (Lamentations 2:19)
- Support one another (Romans 12:15; Galatians 6:2)
- Encourage one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
We will meet from 6:30-7:00pm in Room 104 and begin with a short devotion and discussion, followed by a time to share both verbal and written prayer requests and praises. We will close in prayer for our requests and promise to pray for each other's requests throughout the month.
Our group is open to all and we will meet regardless of the number of people who attend. Our dates for the fall school year are listed below:
- October 5
- November 2
- December 7

Vacation Bible School
Comes around once a year. This year Vacation Bible School was held on August 8-12, 2011for children ages 3 to those entering 6th grade and our theme was Gospel Light’s Son Surf Beach Bash. Look for an update in the near future of our VBS dates for next year!
Children's Sunday School
The purpose of this ministry is to help people learn how to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Learning opportunities are provided for all ages, both on Sunday morning and during the week. Classes are offered along with other activities such as Vacation Bible School, camp, and special events.
An Act 34/35 clearance is required to work with students under the age of 18. More information about this ministry may be obtained by contacting the church office at 724-463-8535.
School Year Sunday School is from Sunday, September 4, 2011 to Sunday, May 27, 2012. Classroom assignments and locations can be found on the Childrens Classes page.
We also have many other opportunities for you to grow closer in your relationship with the Lord and with other believers. It might be Movie Night with popcorn and a favorite blanket or an Advent Activity made by loving hands and cheerful hearts. Perhaps it is the Pastor handing an envelope with Kingdom Assignment money in it or something as seemingly simple as receiving a Bible to begin your child's journey into the rest of their life.
If your children are older than 6th grade we invite them to become a part of our Youth Group which is directed by Youth Director,Doug Rariagh. For more information about Youth Group activities click here.
When your children are beyond 12th grade we still provide meaningful activities as our College Ministry prepares them to ask the hard questions. Our full time College Ministry Director, Karen Salser is active not only with our in-house college students but also the programming in conjunction with the IUP Campus.
