Special Events
Throughout the year, youth have the opportunity to attend conferences, retreats, concerts, and mission trips. These trips help to foster growth and provide outreach. Some of the highlights of the year include Creation, Fall Retreat, Winter Ski Retreat, and Mission Trips. Below are just a few of our more popular and larger events. Not sure when things are happening? Be sure to check out our upcoming events page!
Winter Ski Retreat- In February youth from Indiana, Pa gather at Jumonville Retreat Center for a weekend of fun in the snow! On Saturday, we spend all day on the slopes at the Seven Springs Resort. This weekend has a guest speaker each year and great worship. The purpose of this retreat is to give students who follow the Lord a fun, relevant context to share God's love with their unbelieving friends.
Creation- This is a huge event in June for youth from just about everywhere! We combine with youth from other local churches on a campsite in Mount Union, Pa for 5 days of fun in the sun and learning about faith in Christ. This event includes concerts, speakers, and camping. It is one event no one should miss!

Mission Trips- Every other year the youth go on a mission trip that they themselves decide on. In July of 2006, 20 youth and their leaders traveled down to Tennesee to work with an organization called ReConstruct. While there, we fixed up homes in the Nashville area. This year is a mission trip year!
Work Week- Every other year when we do not go on an "official mission trip," we do work locally in Indiana, Pa. This past year we worked around the church and worked at the Eastern Orthodox Foundation.
See You at the Pole- This is an annual event where youth gather around their school flagpoles in September to pray for their school, teachers, administrators, country, and world. This is a completely student-led event.
Great Couch Event- During the summer, youth have a list of objectives to complete but there is a catch...each time they do a task, it must be videotaped and a couch must be in the picture. That's right, we load up vans and trucks with youth, video cameras, and a couch to see who can complete the most tasks creatively the fastest.
Christmas Lock-In- The week before Christmas, we host a lock-in letting the youth know how much they are loved and appreciated by other members of the church. It is a night of fun and appreciation.
Fall Retreat- This annual retreat is held in November at Camp Allegheny to enjoy a time to refocus ourselves. We have activities, worship, drama, and speakers.
Other events throughtout the year- trips to Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon, Pa for wings, , amusement park trips, sporting events, Interactive Clue Game, Superbowl Party, trips to Pittsburgh, and Kennywood Amusement Park.
