GRIP

GRIP is an IUP-recognized student organization, but the ministry is sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church.

Though we reach out to students on campus through 12:12, there are many students who prefer a more 'traditional' setting for worship. If this is you, we invite you to join us at Grace on Sunday mornings at either 9 am (traditional service) or 11 am (contemporary service). Conveniently located within walking distance from campus, you'll find us at the corner of S. 7th and Church Streets. The great thing about Grace is that it's easy to find: while on campus, look around for the tall white steeple and you've found us!

"So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs"
(Hebrews 12:12 NIV)

Worship means expressing your love, respect and thanks to God. Though the way in which it is expressed can be different for each person, it ultimately connects our hearts and minds to God.
However, finding and maintaining a church home can be hard for a college student.

GRIP invites you to engage in nontraditional worship every Sunday at 12:12PM in the HUB Delaware Room during the semester.

Not only do we try to fill your 'spiritual stomach', but your physical one, too! Volunteers provide us with snacks weekly and a home-cooked lunch once a month.

Our weekly study groups gather on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7PM upstairs in the Grace Growth Center. A group of walkers meet at the HUB at 6:45 and walk together to the GGC. Men Meet on Monday. Women meet on Wednesday.

Currently the women are participating in 31 Women. For many women, the Proverbs 31 woman is too perfect. But in reality, she is an ordinary woman who made herself available to an extraordinary God--and became a tremendous blessing to everyone around her.

The men are participating in a study called Real Men. Come join us as we explore God's Word together, build stronger relationships with one another, and learn how to be a man after God's own heart!

ALL are welcome at any time!

College Mission Initiatives

Missions are a great way to live out your faith and serve your community.

Missions can take the form of major projects in other countries or simply serving hot chocolate to your fellow students.

Recognizing the importance of being Christ's hands and feet, we strive to provide monthly opportunities to serve together as a body. GRIP and Grace United Methodist Church have helped bring both experiences to college students for years in a variety of ways

Katelyn Artman

College Ministry Director

Katelyn Artman

Hello from Katelyn!

My Passion for Christ started at a very young age and has been growing daily. I am constantly learning about and listening to what He has to teach me. God has blessed me with wonderful people throughout my life whom have influenced me and brought me closer to Him.

A large number of these people were throughout my college career at here at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Because of various campus ministries and many Christian friends during my four years at IUP I was able to keep my focus on Him.

When I moved back to the Indiana area I instantly knew that I wanted to help with Grip, one of the ministries I was involved in. God has since lead me here. I am so excited to see where Christ leads this ministry and am blessed to be a part of it.

Yours in Christ,

Katelyn Artman
