Spring has Sprung…now if only the weather would catch up
with the calendar! Mark Twain once commented,
“In the spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24
hours.” (He must have been in Pennsylvania at the time!)
Midnight Mission: This evening, March 22 from 9:30 pm – 2:00 am in
the Church Courtyard We need smiling volunteers to interact with college
students. Come out and join the fun!
The Dynamic Duos Sermon Series continues this weekend with Pastor Bill’s
message about David and Jonathan. The sermon text comes from I Samuel
19:1-7. With this sermon subject, there’s no better time than this
Sunday to invite a friend!
Church Access
Please be aware that the parking lot entrance to the church will be completely
unavailable for a few weeks as work continues on the handicap entrance.
You may enter the church from the narthex, the courtyard or the 7th Street
door. The Welcome Center will be open and accessible only from the door
near the courtyard entrance. The elevator will be accessible. Thank
you for your patience and understanding as we move forward with the
renovations.

Brendon Curry’s Kingdom Assignment: Brendon Curry is still
collecting money for his Kingdom Assignment to support the 1st floor renovation
of the Chevy Chase of Community Center. He is accepting monetary
donations or checks made payable to Chevy Chase Community Center in the
Welcome Center after both services this Sunday. Anyone donating $20 or
more will receive a $5 Dairy Queen gift card. You may also contact Brendon to
make a donation. Cell: 724-549-2114.
Dairy Queen is joining Brendon, and will host a fundraiser on Monday, March
25th from 5:00 to 9:00. If anyone makes a purchase and identifies it as going
toward Brendon’s Kingdom Assignment, 20% of the sale will go directly to the
Chevy Chase Community Center Fund
Kingdom Assignment Update: Please join us for our Saturday Worship
Service in Fellowship Hall on March 30 at 7:00 pm where we will hear reports
from children, teens and adults who have completed or are currently working on
Kingdom Assignments. You are sure to be impressed with the great
ideas folks have come up with to further the Kingdom.
Our Missions Committee will be hosting a special Missions
Presentation during the Sunday school hour on Sunday, April 7. Plan
to join them to see the work our Mission Teams do as they minister to people in
our community, our region, our country and around the world! Grace
Church can be proud of it’s long-standing commitment to missions. Let’s
all show our support to our work teams by attending this presentation.
Special Holy Week Services
The Chancel Easter Choir will present an Easter Cantata called “The
Body of Christ” at the 9 a.m. service on Palm Sunday, April 14.
Please come to hear this touching, meditative and powerful musical telling of
Christ’s final days.
Maunday Thursday and Good Friday: The cast and crew have been hard
at work preparing for The Unexpected Ways of the Shepherd, a
theatrical presentation written by Pastor Bill, and directed by Leslie
Swentosky. Identical performances will take place on April 18 and
19.
There are still openings for non-speaking parts in the play. Joining the
cast (or backstage crew) makes this holy experience even more personal.
Additionally, liturgical dancers 12 years and older are needed. If you are
interested in helping, please contact the church office.
Easter Sunrise Service
Again this year, we will experience the sun rising over Blue Spruce Lake as we
gather in the large lake-side pavilion for our Sunrise Service. This is
always a very touching and meaningful service led by Pastor Kathy.
Easter Sunday Services
The music, the flowers and the message all combine to make Easter Services a
true celebration of our Risen Savior.

Mack Park at 8 a.m. and return by 6 p.m.
Movie Night At Grace!

opportunity to invite a friend. The next movie will be on May
10.
LOST & FOUND: If you are missing gloves, umbrellas, reading
glasses or other items, please check the Welcome Center this week! We will
be disposing of all unclaimed items next week. A man’s ring (possibly a
wedding ring) was found in the parking lot several weeks ago, and a lady’s
black onyx ring was found last week. The rings are in the church
office, and may be claimed during office hours.
Several cake pans still remain in the church kitchen for pick up.
Thanks so much to all of our volunteer bakers!
The Wednesday Night Dinner Menu on March 27:
Fried Shrimp, Garlic & Parmesan Potatoes, Cole Slaw and Dessert.
Reservations by Tuesday at 4 p.m. are required so that we may property
prepare.
Just a Little Chuckle:
One evening over dinner, a boy asked his father, “Dad, are bugs good to
eat?”
“That’s disgusting,” said the father. “You know the
rules–no talking about gross things while we’re eating.”
So the boy finished his meal in silence.
After dinner, the dad asked, “Now, son, what was it you wanted to know
about bugs?”
“Oh, never mind, Dad, he replied. “There was a bug in your
soup, but it’s gone now!”
