March 26 – Giving Up Selfishness
April 2      – Giving Up Negativity

Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services.  We will be commissioning the Mission Team that is going to Bethel Bible Village in Tennessee.  Please join us in prayer for their safe travels and ministry there.

Next Sunday, March 12, the Mexico Mission Team will host their presentation at 10:10 a.m. and again at 12:10 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.  The team will show highlights from their annual trip.

DISAFFILIATION MEETINGS.  There are still two opportunities to attend one of the informational meetings regarding our disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church.  Our appointed committee has met with the Conference Trustees, and we now have definite numbers and procedures to share with our congregation.  Meeting times are as follows:  March 4th at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

A very important Special Charge Conference for Disaffiliation will be held in the Sanctuary on Sunday, March 19 at 7 PM.  All members who faithfully uphold their membership vows are urged to attend and vote.

Don’t forget to pick up your pens and invitations from the ushers this Sunday or next!  The Outreach Team has planned Pi Day for March 14 (3.14).   You are encouraged to take a pie (any size, homemade or purchased), along with the pen and invitation to a friend or neighbor you would like to invite to church.  This is a great tool and easy way to bring up the subject of joining you in church!  Feel free to take two or more invitations to friends!

Kidz Cash Toy Donations: We use Kidz Cash to motivate kids to learn the Bible, bring friends to church and do acts of kindness/service.  We could use small to large toys as prizes they use their kidz’ cash for. Kids also learn to save for larger toys. One of our kids has earned and saved over 80 Kidz Cash dollars!

Just for Laughs:

Sunday School Kids:

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan in which a man was beaten robbed and left for dead.  She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would better understand the drama.  Then she asked the class, “If you saw someone lying on the roadside wounded and bleeding, what would you do?”

Little Lisa quickly answered, “I’d throw up!”

—————————-

Finding one of her students making faces at others, the teacher stopped to gently reprove the child.  Smiling sweetly, the Sunday school teacher said, “ When I was a little girl, I was told that if I made ugly faces, my face would freeze and I would stay like that.”

The boy looked up at her and replied, “Well, you can’t say you weren’t warned.”

——————————

The teacher had just finished the lesson about Lot’s wife looking back on Sodom and turning into a pillar of salt.

A little boy raised his hand and said, “My mommy looked back once when she was driving, and she turned into a telephone pole!”

Have a great day.   See you in church!
