WEEKLY NEWS

Good Morning, friends

Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, in every leaf in springtime!

It was good to see so many folks gathered to worship our Risen Savior last Sunday.   Your welcoming handshakes, smiles and conversations spoke volumes to our guests and let them know that we are, indeed, a warm and friendly church whose people love and welcome everyone!  A special thank you to the choir, orchestra, and worship band for the music shared at each service.

Let’s build on the momentum as we come to church this Sunday when the new sermon series, Rooted begins with Pastor Bill’s message entitled Plant.   The scripture reference is Matthew 12:1-9, 18-23.

Just for Laughs:

Shortly before morning worship, a minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he could ask the congregation for more money for church repairs.  He was even more troubled when he learned that the regular organist was sick.  When the last-minute substitute asked what she should play, the pastor replied with a deep sigh, “Whatever you think best.”

Opening the service with announcements, the pastor said, “Brothers and sisters, we are in great difficulty.  The roof repairs cost twice as much as we anticipated, and we need another $4,000.   Anyone who can pledge one hundred dollars or more, please stand up.”

At that moment, the organist began playing The Star-Spangled Banner.
